P.S.

I need a little help with my page. Should anyone know how to make my page wider so all my pictures and videos can be a little bit bigger, please tell me! x

The Black Swan, don't forget.

It doesn't come out until 11th January next year but I could happily watch and re-watch that trailer. The perfect start for a new year of movies, donchya think?

A new favourite.

Dirty Gold and this itty bitty charmer of a ditty [Sunshine California] is a favourite this year. Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeroes and Karen Elson are some other of my favourite favourites. Which reminds me..Edward Sharpe & co. came out with a new rendition of David Bowie's song, Memory of a Free Festival..

I think it's ok, I just like to hear different versions of things, more than anything.

Some of my favourite websites from today.

Globe Genie
The sky before Katrina struck
Top 10 places to not go
Troll Food
Cardboard Love
Surprise!
Card Toss
Ah Books

Unnecessary inventions #1.

Wobble chess!

How to funkify your life.

All morning I've been hopping through tracks, not wholly satisfied with anything I've heard until this accidentally came on. When you have no heating and it's cold and grey outside and all you have for company are the builders across the street trying to sneak peeks at post-shower you, a flop on your bed and this is integral to keeping your cool.

And afterwards you'll feel ready for bedroom dancing, my favourite kind!

For Blog's Sake

Recently I've lost my pizazz for blogging. When I started my little blog I didn't really have any future visions, I was just making it up as I went along, including any old story or new adventure I wanted to talk about. Then I went away for a few months and got banned from blogging by China! Since I got back, I haven't had much time to blog and when I do I kinda feel like I'm lacking a lot. I have no time to read books about blogging and to go out everyday and take arty photos and post everything I wanna post in a suitably cutesy, kinda cool way. I've been feeling the blogging pressure big time, to maintain posting, to do it everyday and personalise my site, to start using all that code and script and so on, it takes as much thought and effort as a full time job and I'm kinda an all or nothing person. I want my blog to be what it looks like in my head but for now, it can't so I've avoided it. It doesn't help that I have a new job whereby I get up at 5am everyday plus I've been feeling a bit down and uninspired and restless and bored and fed up since I got home, overall. Hong Kong will do that to a person. It feels like home, I have such a soft spot for Hong Kongers..they have to be some of my favourite people [so far]. The whole place is amazing, it's one of those things that once you go you know, but until then you have no idea. I was walking around the place most of the time in a daze just like 'waaah people actually built this place, they actually actually built it.' It's incredible and coming back to Bristol was not. It's just reaffirmed my want to move away, to Jamaica, to Japan, to anywhere. I've been trying to pick things up a little, Dan [mi boyfriendo, he'sa spanish so you will see me write with lots of o's and el's when I'm talking about him] and I are gonna start Burger Monday and tell you all about the best and worst and inbetween burgers of Bristol, it's a little exclusive to just-Bristolians so I'm sorry for anyone who doesn't know where all the roads and places are. Burger Monday, as good as it sounds, is something he's more excited about than I am. All I can think about is how I'm going to end up with burger bum and burger belly. I'd much prefer to do Salad Saturday or Sushi Sunday but for now, it's definitely definitely Burger Monday. So there's that, and that's a start. But for now I found myself some inspiration in the form of Barney Stinson. I hope it helps for those lousy no-good days where all you want is to be five again, eating burgers and not thinking about your future fat ass.

Evelyn Doreen and Iphone apps.

When iphones first came out I didn't care too much. I enjoyed my little Nokia and kidded myself that all I really need to do is text and call people but now the ipone 4 is on it's way and I found this. Now I've scrapped that thinking, I just want one.

I have a favourite boat down at Bristol harbourside called Evelyn Doreen. She's tiny with a red bum [lower deck, stern?! I dunno] and you could almost miss her but every time I'm down there I go and see her, sat as usual just bobbing about looking like a mess. One time after a few drinks I almost wrote a letter to the owner asking if he'd sell her to me but just as well they have barriers and gates because I don't even have a Captain's hat let alone the pennies or the boat knowledge for a boat.
Sometimes I think I love that boat. I've had more than one daydream thinking about cleaning her up and going steering around the harbour in my boat that could barely fit two.

And that's why I need that phone and app! So I can take some dreamy photos of my boat and youknow..other things too. There's all sorts of things I've spotted that need just the right light and lens that a Nintendo Dsi will glare over with it's stupid one setting.
You've seen some of my dsi photos, they need an iphone overhaul.
I wrote it down in a JustInCaseIforgetChristmas list along with some other bits, that my parents are just going to love.

Bunny Got Nailed!

Nope nope I didn't do anything to him, he's sat in his hutch as usual a million miles away from designers who want to turn him into this..

This is the Fairground Bunny Got Nailed Wrap Cardigan. It's probably an ugly cardigan, some might say you  shouldn't wear it if you're over 8 or over 8 but sober and not going to an animal party but I still kinda want it on me and I like to think I'd wear it [and outside too].
Recently I've got my groove back a little when it comes to clothes. I went through one of those scared to stand out, awkward phases and now I've come to like what I like and wear it. Fruit jumpers, little green coats and all.
I'm not your jeggings, old boots, leopard print fur coat, big hair and 80s make up kinda girl at all. I like neutral, simple, masculineish clothes..but definitely not those boyfriend jeans and blazers. I don't like too many flowers or lace and bows and I don't like fringing. I like tidy, simple, easy breazy fashion. I suppose if I had to pin-point it, I like most things Alexa Chung wears out of all the people you see and read about. I wouldn't think twice about bopping her over the head to run off with her wardrobe.
It can go on that JustInCaseIForgetChristmas List.

Santa Katesy

My local post office is going to love me in a minute when I turn up with another 11 assorted size parcels for them, to add to yesterday's 7. I'm not even done yet! That's where I've been all this time, selling my bedroom on ebay and packing for Hong Kong along with a few other things.

Yesterday I wanted to go to the cinema so bad not caring, too much, what I saw but turns out there's nothing good on at all so Dan and I picked what we thought was the best out of the lot, Death at a Funeral. It was better than we thought but reminded me just of The Hangover with the everything-that-can-go-wrong-will-go-wrong plot. Something tells me 'they' might just be milking it for everything they can get. As a notreallyfilmrelated after thought, we both agreed that Tracy Morgan and Luke Wilson are looking mighty bloated and chubby these days. Thinking about it Luke Wilson wasn't really needed at all, I don't what he was really doing in the film. He played a bit of a douchebag and should have maybe kinda probably been replaced with Owen.

Photos You Probably Haven't Seen, of the Oil Spill in the Gulf of New Mexico.

I haven't been watching, reading or listening about the oil spill mainly because I just don't want to. I can imagine how bad it must be, I've seen pictures and read about these things before. Sometimes I think everyone just needs a gap from hearing about these kind of things. Recently all I've heard about is another earthquake, another volcano eruption, another crazy person shooting innocent people, 10 year old rapists, violent protests, people dying in violent protests, more bad husbands cheating on their wives, the whole world seems like it's gone a bit out of synch.
Plus, all these things ever do is just make me mad at the idiots in control and how I wish I could help but can't.
Anyway, I accidentally came across some photos of how things are going in New Mexico and just like I imagined it's horrible and ruins the morning.
I'll be back with something more chirpy by the end of the day.

DSi games for sale

As part of my clear out for Hong Kong, I got a little brutal with myself and started really assessing whether I need everything I have. And I don't.
Today I have Brain Training, More Brain Training, Super Mario Bros. and Brothers in Arms DSi games up for sale.
They're brand new and originally about £34.95, I'm hoping to sell them for around £20ish each but I'm open to suggestions.
Email me at kate_latham44@hotmail.com if you're interested and I'll reply straight back to talk business!

The small things

This is a nice little video I came across.
No shooting rampages, oil spills, earthquakes, protests, volcanic eruptions, plane crashes, politics, credit crunches or rapists at all.

Sell, sell, sell

For my trip to Hong Kong and China, in just under two weeks, I thought it wouldn't hurt if I sold everything and got some extra pennies. It may just be a bungee jump here, a helicopter ride there, who knows.
You can go here to have a look around. It's taken all today, 6 diet cokes, half a blueberry muffin, a few humbug mints and now I'm pooped but there will be more to come.
I haven't even started on books yet.

Get that boyfriend outta your bed.

I'm trying to wake up Dan with this while he's trying to pretend he's asleep but he doesn't know I can see his dancing feet poking out.
It also makes just good morning music when the weather looks as gloomy as it does today.

Clever Dior.

Just to carry on my class about optical illusions.

More optical illusions than you could shake a stick at.

Today's man to read about is Felice Varini and his optical illusions. A quick wikipedia-ing told me he's a Swiss artist known for his geometric illusions in rooms and outdoors, sometimes all over towns, using projectors and stencils.
This is him at work, it's pretty incredible. It made me want to start drawing lines on the walls and see what I can do.

I think you might just like this too. This time it's French photographer Georges Rousse.
